A return to classical ideas

We’ve waited for it, we’ve begged for it, we’ve implored for Valve to give us at least a cursory update on the status of Half Life 2: Episode Three.  Well, as it happens, this peculiar image was posted on Valve’s Facebook page:

Let’s just hope it isn’t a teaser for a character named Jack Freeman in Left 4 Dead 3 or something like that.

There’s not going to be an Episode Three. Valve killed off one of the most important characters in Episode Two, so we’ll have to wait for Half-Life 3 or something.

Episode Three was confirmed years ago.

Heh, can you blame me? Ep3 has been in development so long some people might think that.

I know, some people thing we’ll see L4D3 before Episode 3.

BTW, the joke was that someone would say “We can get along without Eli Vance,” at which point my reply would be “I was referring to Lamarr.” XD

Forget about that, I want to Valve to finally announce the new DotA-style game they’re working on!

Is it sad that I only played 2-3 hours of Half-Life 2 before quitting and never going back?

@Shawn: Not really, I almost did the same thing during Ravenholm. The artificial difficulty is insane sometimes. I persevered simply because I didn’t want to get crap for it from my friends.

Gabe Newell, king of hamburgers, already declared that HLep3 won’t be at E3. I’m almost betting that they’re revamping the Source engine heavily or moving to a new one that is PS3 compatible so they can release across all platforms with ease. They’re in it for the money afterall, and the PS3 is almost caught up with 360 sales. Ignoring it as a legitimate console for their releases from here on out would be stupid.

Really need to play the episodes. I just can’t get into them.

Ugh, don’t remind me of Ravenholm, Carl. I can’t believe how much time in that town was spent jumping. It was like a different team developed it.
